Our Carpet Cleaning Tips are Spot On!
Proper care and maintenance of your carpet will extend its useful life and preserve its appearance for years and years. Failure to take care of it will result in premature wear. Additionally, clean carpets contribute to a healthy indoor environment. Dirty carpets can be unhealthful indeed.
Save yourself money and maintain a healthy home by using the following simple carpet care tips:
Care Tip 1
Change your air filters in forced air heating/cooling systems.
This will slow down the circulating dust, dirt and pollutants in the
air causing the filtration lines. Radiating heating systems will not
be able to take advantage of this do.
Care Tip 2
Vacuum often (traffic lanes), or once per week for each
resident. A family of four should try to vacuum traffic lanes 4x
per week!
Care Tip 3
Use throw rugs, especially in and out of the
kitchen. Mats should be placed at entrances for people to wipe their
shoes before entering.
Care Tip 4
Use Chem-Dry Spot Remover™ for proper spotting
procedures.
Care Tip 5
Have your carpets cleaned on a yearly basis by
a Chem-Dry professional. (Be sure to have your carpets protected
each time you have them cleaned to give you the best chance of spot
removal). The EPA says to have your carpets cleaned a minimum of
every 6 months to help prevent mold, dust mites, pet dander, and
bacteria!

Carpets made from Olefin fiber, usually a recently installed berber,
poses a real maintenance challenge for the homeowner. Olefin is a
strong, durable fiber made from plastic. It has excellent dye fastness
and claims to be resistant to fading, acids, bleaches, and staining.
However, olefin is an oil-loving hydrocarbon (soils easily) with
relatively low resistance to abrasion (scratches easily). In addition,
plastic generates a static electric charge that attracts dust and
dirt (soot). Therefore the issues of traffic lanes and filtration
lines are greatly amplified.
Proper and frequent maintenance is required
and all the recommendations listed in our free
report must be followed
and even doubled or tripled! As an example carpets made of olefin
must be cleaned frequently (every 3-6 months), otherwise they become
a disappointment to the homeowner after 3-4 years. |
